CMOS Charged Particle Spectrometers

چکیده
Integrated circuits, manufactured in CMOS technology, have been developed as diffusion-based charged particle spectrometers for space applications. Current designs are single-chip spectrometers capable of uniquely identifying and counting electrons and heavy ions. A four-chip spectrometer designed to count protons and heavy ions was flown on the Clementine spacecraft. The spectrometer proton data is compared to GOES-6 prown d2.ta for the 21 February 1994 solar proton evenL

Simultaneous Measurements of Fuel Areal Density, Shell Areal Density, and Fuel Temperature in D3He-Filled Imploding Capsules
LLE Review, Volume 78 93 Measurements of the charged-particle products of the fusion reactions from an imploding inertial fusion capsule can provide a direct means of characterizing key aspects of the implosion dynamics. Parameters such as the fusion yield, fuel ion temperature, capsule convergence, fuel and shell areal densities, and implosion asymmetry can be inferred by these measurements an...
متن کاملRotational and Vibrational bands in 108 Pd
The Pd nucleus has been studied with the Mo(B, p2nγ) reaction at 43 MeV incident energy. γ−γ− t, γ−γ− charged particle coincidences and directional correlation ratios were measured using the γ spectrometer formed by four Compton suppressed HPGe detectors and a 4π charged-particle ancillary detector system. The struture of the bands was interpreted within the framework of the cranked shell model...
متن کاملMeasurement of charged particle multiplicities and densities in pp collisions at 7 TeV in the forward region Paul
Charged particle multiplicities are studied in proton-proton collisions in the forward region at a centre-of-mass energy of √ s = 7 TeV with data collected by the LHCb detector. The forward spectrometer accesses a kinematic range of 2.0 < η < 4.8 in pseudorapidity, momenta greater than 2 GeV/c and transverse momenta greater than 0.2 GeV/c. The measurements are performed using events with at lea...
متن کاملMain Injector Particle Production Experiment (MIPP) at Fermilab
The Main Injector Particle Production Experiment at Fermilab uses particle beams of charged pions, kaons, proton and anti-proton with beam momenta of 5 to 90 GeV/c and thin targets spanning the periodic table from (liquid) hydrogen to uranium to measure particle production cross sections in a full acceptance spectrometer with charged particle identification for particles from 0.1 to 120 GeV/c u...
متن کاملCoulomb Effects in Charged Particle Spectra from Heavy Ion Collisions at AGS and SIS ∗
Data from the AGS experiment E866 on charged particles emitted in central Au+Au collisions at 10.8 AGeV incident energy is reviewed. The study of spectral shapes indicates the presence of collective transverse flow and – in particular for charged pions – of Coulomb final state interaction between emitted particles and the nuclear charge distribution. The comparison to SIS pion data measured wit...
